3 Learning Legs
Our students are immersed in learning that engages their hearts and minds. Students design their own education as they brainstorm, design, and execute independent, student-initiated projects. With guidance from their learning coaches, Project-Based Learning (PBL) allows students to engage deeply in subjects of their interest. Through projects, students will learn time management, collaboration skills, tenacity, creativity, and communication skills necessary to succeed in the 21st Century.
Our students will use the Arrowsmith Program®, a suite of cognitive programs, designed to address a series of cognitive functions underlying a range of specific learning disabilities. This kind of dedicated training drives positive changes in the brain. New connections are made between neurons, while existing connections can be strengthened, and new neurons can grow. In our cognitive classroom, students will address the root of their learning challenges.
Designed to meet the emotional needs of our students, we offer nature immersion and animal-assisted therapy. We offer skill-based remediation in reading, writing, and math to build skills in an intensive, systematic, multisensory approach which focuses on strengths to improve weaknesses. Students with language-based learning disabilities will receive daily one-on-one language skills therapy using the Orton-Gillingham approach.
